Our client sought to connect with young moms that were concerned about what they fed their kids. Like most millennials, these women get most of their information from trusted online sources that they feel like they could relate to. We took a look at popular websites like Refinery 29 and PopSugar to help inform the creative direction and voice of the client’s new blog, Plate-Wise.
Visually we focused on bright pastels, appetizing but realistic food photography, and rough inky line work to create a fun and approachable style that would catch the eyes of viewers. To really make a splash with our first round of blog posts, we worked with a stop motion studio to create a video that would sit at the top of the page to explain Plate-Wise as well as a series of stop motion gifs that would go along with the first 3 blog posts to be published.
Social Posts
With each blog post published, we also had to create a visual to be posted to social media. Each post needed to relate back to both the food and information featured in the article, so we often relied on stock images that we placed on one of the brands pastel backgrounds and embellished with custom illustrations.
